Copyright Metadata on Photos — Mac

Inspect copyright notices, creator/artist fields, credit lines, and usage terms locally on the Mac before you publish or hand off selects. Common locations include EXIF Artist and Copyright, IPTC Copyright Notice and Credit, and XMP rights-management fields—different apps write different subsets.

A rights audit on delivery day should compare what the camera or catalog wrote with what the export actually contains. JPEG proofs, TIFF masters, HEIC phone stills, and DNG archives can disagree after round-trips; sidecars may hold catalog rights that never landed in the file.
