EXIF Orientation Wrong on Mac?
Orientation tags tell viewers how to rotate pixels. Wrong or missing tags cause sideways galleries, odd thumbnails, and print errors after phone-to-Mac round-trips.

If EXIF Orientation looks wrong on the Mac, inspect the tag before you blame the CMS or printer. Some tools only flip Orientation; others bake rotation into pixels and leave a stale tag. Phones writing HEIC/JPEG, Lightroom exports, and web resizers disagree on which approach they use.
Check Orientation before batch resizing, DAM upload, or print. A sideways select in one viewer and correct in another usually means one renderer honors the tag and another ignores it—or the pixels were rotated while the tag was not updated.
